By appointing Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria to conduct inspections you consent to the following terms and conditions:
Scope of Appointment– Pool Safety Barrier Compliance Inspection
  • Review the letter provided by your Council that details the construction date of the pool and the Australian Standard applicable to your pool barrier.
  • Confirm the day and approximate time of inspection.
  • Where applicable, provide the owner with a report listing any non-compliances with the pool barrier as required by Building Regulation 147ZG.
  • Issue a certificate of pool and spa barrier non-compliance if necessary, as required by the Building Regulations
  • Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria will appoint a suitably trained and/or qualified and/or registered representative to carry out any site visits and/or inspections.
  • For training purposes, we may elect to send more than one representative to your site.
  • Though we endeavor to send the original inspector for any return visits, this may not always be possible. You agree to any representative of Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria as listed above carrying out any site visits, inspections or re-inspections.
  • The owner warrants the accuracy and completeness of all information given to Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria, not obstructing Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria in carrying out its functions, providing Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria with unconstrained access to the subject property.
  • The pool barrier compliance report isn’t to be viewed as a Building Permit. Where any pool barrier modification works are required, a building permit may be needed before commencement of the work. It is the proprietor’s obligation to obtain a Building Permit before starting any works.
  • A advance payment is required to confirm a booking.
  • Inspection, as well as re-inspection cost, varies depending on the location of your property which includes issuing the Certificate of Compliance if the Pool Barrier is compliant at that time.
  • Please pick the date of inspection carefully guaranteeing your accessibility or admittance to be given to our inspectors. We usually don’t give refunds if you simply change your mind or make a wrong decision. If, however for unforeseen circumstances a credit may be applied for.
  • Fraudulent information provided may require us to submit personal information to any government agency as necessary and as required by law.
  • By appointing Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria to carry out a Safety Barrier Inspection, a re-inspection or (a maximum of 2) re-inspections may be required, by law if you fail to arrange re-inspection within 60days of first inspection, Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria is obligated to issue a certificate of Pool barrier non-compliance certificate.
  • Reports and Certificates of Compliance will be issued as soon as practicable following any inspection.
  • As per the building regulations a maximum of 60 days will be allowed under regulation 147ZG if a barrier is found to be non-compliant. After a re-inspection if a barrier if found to be non-compliant a further 7 days notice will be issued to bring the barrier to standards. If after the 7 days the barrier is still not made compliant Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria will have to issue a Certificate of Pool Barrier Non-compliance
  • Consultation service are verbal inspections only. However, if a major non-compliance issue is found we are required under Division 6 of the Building Regulations 2018 reg 147ZF to notify the council.
  • Any information provided by Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria on our website that is produced by external sources (VBA, Local Councils, etc.) may not be exhaustive nor accurate. It is the responsibility of the institution making that information available to ensure its suitability for public consumption. We always attempt to update information on our website as it comes to be known by us, however, we cannot guarantee that information has not been replaced.
  • Aggression toward any representative of Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria will not be tolerated and representative may vacate a site or terminate a phone call at any time where they are threatened in any way.
  • All confidential information provided such as name, address, email and phone numbers are for the use of Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria only. No information is passed onto third parties without an authorization letter signed by the owner.
  • All credit card transactions are processed securely and no credit card details are stored with Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria or any other third parties.
  • We take photos of sites and videos of areas of sites for reviewing practices and procedures. We may use photos of specific areas of Pool Barrier compliances and/or non-compliances on our website for educational purposes. These photos will not contain photos of people on-site other than Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria representatives without prior written permission. Other photos may be utilised in our gallery to highlight aesthetically pleasing Pool Barriers and pool areas.
  • By appointing Pool Barrier Inspection Victoria, you agree that you have fully read and understood our terms and conditions.
